Through a series of recurring events International House North Denmark aims to overcome challenges within finding (and retaining) workforce and jobs, understanding the Danish culture, settling in the region and socially activating.
The Market Focus program is, and the name implies, an initiative that focuses on different markets, allowing international workforce and companies to come across each other.
International House North Denmark Secretariat centers its attention onto specific foreign markets and organizes relevant seminars, inviting companies interested in these markets and potential students who are originated from these regions. IHND also tries to cooperate with non-governmental associations and other interested parties in the specific market focuses. IHND Secretariat aims at developing up to four events, and is responsible for its planning and development. In the same time, IHND manages the event’s marketing by inviting the local community, businesses and potential speakers. One of the main reasons behind this program is due to the fact that International staff is good for sales. Recent statistics show that companies that employ people with different background generate 3,7% more turnover than those companies who do not employee internationals. We want to link local companies with international employees who might contribute with new market knowledge and competences.
The Individual Company Seminars is a specific program targeted towards the individual businesses needs in relation to international workforce.
International House North Denmark Secretariat plans a seminar where a specific company talks about their business and their respective workforce needs. The goal of the seminar is to understand in which ways the existing international labor force in the region could become an asset for the companies, and to understand the international workforce characteristics and qualities that are being sought.
International Contacts and Networks is another of the ongoing initiatives that the IHND Secretariat is involved with. The major focus is to build a net of contacts and networks with the goal to attract international workforce to North Denmark.
IHND aims at teaming up with national and international partners with the overall purpose of sharing experience and know-how on how to deal with attracting, receiving and welcoming international qualified workforce. This means that several study trips has taken place both to national and international partners, and many international delegations has visited IHND. IHND has especially established a close cooperation with the Southern region of Norway, the Western region of Sweden and our own Northern region of Denmark.
IHND Secretariat participates in projects such as URBACT and Copenhagen Capacity’s Talent Attraction Management, as well as maintains a close connection with a vast number of Danish and foreign Regions and other public institutions
